Process, not device.
CPS security tools built for asset management and IDS see the network, find the device, and stop. They were designed for IT environments and mapped to OT topology. The process, the actual physical thing the organization runs, is not their frame of reference. Opera's frame of reference is always the process and the service it supports.

Depth to L0.
The field layer, L0, is where sensors actuate, where serial protocols run, where the physical process actually happens. First-generation tools stop at L1, the controller. Opera virtualizes serial communication to see through to L0. That is not a feature extension. It is a different visibility model.

Consequence-to-continuity.
A CVSS score tells you how exploitable a vulnerability is. It tells you nothing about what stops if it is exploited. Opera ties every finding to a service consequence. The output is not a ranked list of vulnerabilities. It is a ranked list of operational risks, tied to uptime, safety, and continuity.

Preemptive and agentic, closed loop.
Human-led security operations triage after the alert. Opera acts before the incident. The loop, see, rank, contain, prove, runs continuously. The system closes itself. Human judgment is required for decisions, but the investigation, prioritization, and guidance happen without waiting for a team to start.

On-prem, where cloud agents cannot go.
Cloud-connected security agents do useful work on managed infrastructure. They cannot go where critical industrial operations live. Air-gapped environments, sovereign networks, classified infrastructure. Opera runs fully on-prem, with no cloud dependency. That is not a deployment option. For critical operations, it is a requirement.

L0 is the field layer: sensors, actuators, serial end-points, the signals that make the physical process move. Standard IT/OT tools ingest Ethernet and IP. They stop at L1. Opera virtualizes serial communication, ingests proprietary protocols, and maps L0 passively with zero disruption to operations. The result is a process map, not an asset list.
